Turkey Chili

September in New England means colder weather, Patriots football, apple picking and fall foods. One of my all time favorite healthy fall foods is Turkey Chili. My recipe is easy to follow and only 8 ingredients.

Turkey Chili (5 Serving)
275 Calories per serving
Macros P24/C31/F6

1 LBS ground turkey
1-14.5 oz can black beans
44oz of diced tomatoes, I use 1-14.5oz and 1-28oz can
1 TBS chili powder
1 1/2 TBS cumin
1 large green pepper (chopped)
1 small onion (chopped)
1 TBS olive oil

In a large saucepan heat the olive oil over med/high heat. Add onions and peppers and cook 1-2 minutes until onions are translucent. Add peppers and cook 2 minutes. Add ground turkey and cook until browned. Add spices (add more or less to taste), black beans, and tomatoes and stir well. Reduce heat to a low simmer and cook 1-2 hours.

Serve with a pinch of fat free cheese or sour cream if desired. Or add your favorite hot sauce to kick it up a notch
